Barry Hannah passed away yesterday at his home here in Oxford.

You don't mention the fellow he's standing with at the left--Larry Brown, another writer from Oxford, who died far too young. I met Barry once (when in Oxford for the Writer's Conference) and met Larry several times, and corresponded sporadically with him. Both writers are missed.
